An exciting new opportunity exists for a Claims Supervisor with Affinity Medical Solutions in Richmond, CA, affiliated with University HealthCare Alliance (UHA), Stanford Hospital & Clinics' new medical foundation.
The Claims Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, and managing staff performance. Additionally, the Claims Supervisor will review and reconcile claims audit results with the Department Director and administer overall claims adjudication in accordance with State, Federal and Health plan regulatory requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for incorporating newly designed policies, procedures and qualified data into training programs for Claims Examiners.
The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate; possess seven (7) years prior customer service experience in an IPA or HMO related setting with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role. Additionally he/she will have the ability to assess and coordinate departmental workflows effectively; have exemplary verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for writing procedural updates and interpreting policies. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of computer operations (Microsoft Word and Excel applications), medical insurance rules/regulations, thorough knowledge of medical terminology, enrollment and membership activities and claim processing procedures/systems to include coding systems such as ICD-9, CPT and HCPC.
